Cancer Kick ? Business Briefs for Jan. 2 through Jan. 11

Venture raises funds for Leukemia Lymphoma Society For more than 10 years, Vail Resorts? Specialty Sports Venture (SSV) has raised funds for local charities over the holidays with its Adopt-A-Cause campaign, including the Park City locations, according to a press release from the company. This year?s campaign will benefit The Leukemia Lymphoma Society, the world?s largest non-profit organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services. SSV?s Breeze stores in Salt Lake City and Park City have raised more than $15,000, and the campaign will continue through Jan. 6. Vail Resorts Echo, the company?s sustainability program, will match 50 cents for every dollar donated. Customers can support The Leukemia Lymphoma Society and the Adopt-A Cause program at local Breeze stores and Park City?s Max Snowboards through Jan. 6, 2013. DWS Law Seminar

The Department of Workforce Services Employer Connection Advisory Board (ECAB) is inviting employers and business owners to attend the free January event, ?Better Your Business Breakfast Seminar.? The seminar is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 16 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. and will cover what management needs to know to comply with federal and state laws and regulations. Utah scenic calendar available

The 2013 edition of the Utah Life Elevated? Scenic Calendar is currently available for purchase online at www.uotstore.com, according to a press release from the Utah Office of Tourism. The calendar is in its 41st year, highlighting many iconic Utah destinations, outdoor activities and events. The Utah Scenic Calendar is recognized annually for design and photography by the National and World Calendar Awards competition hosted by the Calendar Marketing Association, the release continued. Both the 2011 and 2012 editions were honored with a total of 13 awards from the National and World Calendar Awards competition, including the Gold Awards for Best Graphic Design. Individual calendars are $10 each, plus tax and shipping. Bulk orders of 50 or more calendars are offered at $8.
