Showing some love to his Japanese fans, Tom Hanks showed up at a press conference for “Captain Phillips” in Tokyo today (October 18).
The “Forrest Gump” star was joined by director Paul Greengrass at Tokyo Midtown for some photos and a few questions from the local media ahead of his film’s premiere.
Of his character’s capture and subsequent rescue in the flick, Hanks previously shared, “It’s a moment like I’ve never had making films. It’s not on the page at all.”
Per the synopsis, “It’s the true story of Captain Richard Phillips and the 2009 hijacking by Somali pirates of the US-flagged MV Maersk Alabama, the first American cargo ship to be hijacked in two hundred years.”
